Omron EE-SPX841 Photomicrosensor
Omron EE-SPX841 is a through-beam photomicrosensor using a fixed 5 mm slot for controlled target sensing. Its transmitting and receiving sections establish a modulated optical path across the opening, and a target entering the slot changes the NPN output condition. Light-ON operation defines the switching response, while the sensor operates from 5 to 24 VDC. Average current consumption is specified at 15 mA maximum and peak consumption at 50 mA maximum. The output supports up to 50 mA load current, while a special connector provides the electrical interface. A red indicator gives visual operating feedback during use. The EE-SPX841 provides a wider sensing gap within the 5 mm slot sensor range from Omron Slot Sensor Products.

The Omron EE-SPX841 Photomicrosensor uses a through-beam optical arrangement across a fixed 5 mm sensing slot. When an object enters the slot, it changes the optical path across the defined sensing position, allowing the NPN output to provide the specified switching signal. Unlike the EE-SPX742 and EE-SPX743 models, this unit operates in Light-ON mode. Supply voltage is 5 to 24 VDC, with average current consumption specified at 15 mA max. and peak current at 50 mA. The output supports up to 50 mA load current, while residual voltage is listed as 1.0 V max. at 50 mA and 0.4 V max. at 10 mA. A red light indicator gives visual operating status, and a special connector provides the electrical interface.
The EE-SPX841 uses a polycarbonate case and holder and is rated for operation between -10°C and 55°C. Its storage range extends from -25°C to 65°C, with operating humidity specified from 5% to 85%. Mechanical specifications include vibration resistance from 10 to 55 Hz at 1.5 mm double amplitude for two hours along each axis and shock resistance of 500 m/s² three times in each X, Y, and Z direction. The sensor carries an IP50 enclosure rating. Its 5 mm slot provides a larger sensing gap than the 3.6 mm EE-SPX variants in this group, while retaining NPN output and modulated optical operation. For a related Light-ON slot model with a 3.6 mm sensing gap, see the Omron EE-SPX843.
