Omron EE-SPX741 Photomicrosensor
Omron EE-SPX741 is a through-beam slot photomicrosensor designed around a fixed 5 mm sensing gap. Its transmitting and receiving elements establish a modulated optical path across the opening, allowing the NPN output condition to change when a target blocks the beam. Dark-ON operation defines the switching response, while operating power is supplied from 5 to 24 VDC. Average current consumption is specified at 15 mA maximum, with a peak value of 50 mA maximum, and the output supports a 50 mA maximum load. A special connector provides the electrical interface and a red indicator supplies visual status. Compared with narrower slot versions, the EE-SPX741 provides added clearance within the 5 mm slot photomicrosensor range across Omron Sensors.

The Omron EE-SPX741 Photomicrosensor provides through-beam sensing across a fixed 5 mm slot using a modulated optical path. A target moving into the opening blocks the beam and changes the NPN output according to Dark-ON operation. The sensor runs from 5 to 24 VDC, with average current consumption specified at 15 mA maximum and peak consumption at 50 mA maximum. The output supports a 50 mA maximum load current. Residual voltage is specified at 1 V maximum at a 50 mA load and 0.4 V maximum at 10 mA. A special connector supplies the electrical interface, and a red indicator provides visual status. Polycarbonate is listed for both the case and holder.
Where an Omron slot photomicrosensor requires more target clearance than a 3.6 mm version, the relevant model is the EE-SPX741. Its 5 mm fixed gap adds 1.4 mm of opening compared with the EE-SPX740 while retaining the same stated supply range, current-consumption figures, load capability, and Dark-ON behavior. Operating temperature extends from -10 to 55°C and storage from -25 to 65°C. The fixed internal alignment keeps the sensing geometry consistent whenever a target passes through the slot. This makes the gap size the clearest mechanical distinction between these closely related models. For the narrower 3.6 mm configuration, see EE-SPX740.
