Omron E3Z-D61 5M Photoelectric Sensor

Omron E3Z-D61 5M is a diffuse-reflective photoelectric sensor for direct object sensing across a distance of up to 100 mm. An 870 nm infrared LED supplies the optical source, allowing the sensor to evaluate light returned directly from the target without a separate reflector. Its NPN output communicates the switching state to compatible industrial control circuitry, while selectable Light-ON and Dark-ON operation supports different machine logic. The sensor operates from 12 to 24 VDC and includes a 5 m pre-wired cable for longer wiring runs. Response time is specified at 1 ms maximum, and a one-turn adjuster supports sensitivity setting. Within the E3Z Series, the E3Z-D61 5M provides extended cable length for 100 mm diffuse sensors from Omron Sensor Products.

The Omron E3Z-D61 5M Photoelectric Sensor uses diffuse-reflective sensing for direct object sensing across a distance of up to 100 mm. Its 870 nm infrared LED directs light toward the target, while the sensor evaluates the returned light without requiring a separate reflector. The NPN output supports a load supply voltage of up to 26.4 VDC and a load current of up to 100 mA. Light-ON or Dark-ON operation can be selected to suit the required control logic. The sensor operates from 12 to 24 VDC and includes a 5 m pre-wired cable for extended wiring. Current consumption is 30 mA maximum, response time is 1 ms maximum, and a one-turn adjuster supports sensitivity setting.

For an Omron short-range diffuse sensor requiring NPN output and additional cable length, the relevant model is the E3Z-D61. Ambient-light resistance is specified at 3,000 lx under incandescent light and 10,000 lx under sunlight. Operating temperature extends from -25 to 55°C, while storage covers -40 to 70°C without icing or condensation. The listed construction materials include PBT and methacrylic resin. Reverse supply polarity, output short-circuit, mutual-interference, and reversed-output polarity protection support the electrical design. The 100 mm range is suitable for direct target sensing where a reflector is not required. Its specification also suits searches for an Omron 5 m cable photoelectric sensor and Omron NPN diffuse sensor. For the shorter 2 m cable version with a wide-view 5 to 100 mm range, see the E3Z-D61 2M.
